Middleware Home
Middleware
Home is the top level location for installation and consists of the weblogic
server and optionally one or more Oracle homes e.g.: Oracle_BI1. All the files
related to Oracle BI reside in Middleware home. Middleware home can reside on a
local file system or on a remote shared disk that is accessible through NFS.
This folder is created by the user and the path is specified during OBIEE installation.
Oracle Home
An
Oracle Home contains installed files necessary to host a specific product. The
Oracle BI 'Oracle Home'(Oracle_BI1) contains a directory that contains binary
and library files for OBIEE. An Oracle home resides within the library
structure of Middleware home.
Oracle Common
Oracle
common home contains the binary and library files required for Oracle EM. There
can be only one oracle common within middleware home.
Weblogic Home
Weblogic
server home contains installed files necessary to host a weblogic server. It is
a peer of Oracle home directories and resides within middleware home.
Instances
Instances
contain sub directories that hold the Oracle BI system components, OPMN
control, configuration files, RPD, web cat etc.
User Projects
User
projects contain the Weblogic Admin and Managed Servers that host Oracle JAVA
components. It contains weblogic admin and managed server log files.
