Oracle Fusion & its hardware requirements ?

Oracle acquired Siebel in 2006 and peoplesoft in 2005 which had already occupied JD Edwards in 2003. After the acquisition of Siebel, Peroplesoft etc , Oracle introduced Fusion which uses the best functionality for all the application suites and create a single super ERP. The Oracle fusion has a data model which is union of the datamodels of Siebel,Peoplesoft etc. Fusion is not only an attempt at releasing an integrated suite of applications from the Oracle, PS, JDE, and Siebel lines. The real goal of Fusion is to present a process integration layer that spans across all your organization’s applications, regardless if they are Oracle apps or not.

The Oracle has not yet released the hardware requirements for the fusion applications but it requires approximately 128 gb RAM and is recommended mainly in the Linux Platform. The installation of the oracle fusion application is complex compared to the installation of other Oracle products. The installables for oracle fusion applications is around 70gb. This itself signifies the complexity of the application.
